Getting started
We work with founders at all stages — from pre-seed ideas through to Series A and beyond. For pre-seed teams, we typically start with a focused discovery sprint to validate the idea and define the MVP scope before committing to a full build. You don't need a large budget to get started; you need a clear problem worth solving.
Typically within one to two weeks of a signed agreement. We run a free 30-minute discovery call first to understand your situation, then follow up with a scoping proposal within 48 hours. If scope and budget align, we can kick off a discovery sprint almost immediately — no lengthy procurement processes.
Yes. While we're based in Reading, UK, we work with founders and teams across Europe, North America, and beyond. Most collaboration happens asynchronously via Slack, Notion and weekly video calls, with occasional on-site visits for kick-offs or key milestones.
Pricing & contracts
Both. Discovery sprints and well-scoped MVPs can be delivered on a fixed price so you know exactly what you're committing to. Ongoing product development or team augmentation typically runs on a capped time & materials basis with a monthly sprint budget. We always agree on the model upfront — no surprises.
You do — always. Full IP ownership transfers to you upon final payment, clearly stated in every contract. All code is delivered via your own repositories, infrastructure sits in your cloud accounts, and there are no lock-in clauses. You should be able to walk away and hand the codebase to any team at any point.
Working together
Yes — this is one of our most common engagement models. We embed alongside your existing engineers as a senior extension of the team, taking ownership of specific workstreams, running delivery ceremonies, or providing technical leadership. We adapt to your existing tools and workflows rather than imposing our own.
We're pragmatic rather than dogmatic. Our most common stack is React or Next.js on the frontend, Node.js or Python on the backend, and AWS or GCP for cloud infrastructure. For AI workloads we use the leading LLM APIs and open-source tooling. We'll always recommend the right tool for the job rather than force-fitting a preferred stack.
We run a structured handover including code documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks and a knowledge transfer session. The codebase sits in your own repositories from day one. Build-Operate-Transfer engagements are also available for teams that want us to run the platform initially and hand it over fully once your team is ready.
