Our founder
From the BBC to Booking.com — now building for startups
Hammad Afridi spent two decades in engineering leadership at some of the UK's most demanding digital organisations — Software Engineering Lead at the BBC, Engineering Manager at Booking.com, and Head of Engineering at Sainsbury's.
What he kept seeing: the engineering rigour that kept those platforms running — clear technical strategy, senior ownership on every decision, disciplined architecture — simply wasn't available to early-stage startups. Founders were left choosing between junior agencies, uncommitted freelancers, or a full-time CTO hire they couldn't yet afford. Too many startups were failing for reasons that had nothing to do with their idea. He founded TechTek in 2026 to fix that.
How we operate
Built differently from day one
We don't run a body shop. Every engagement is owned end-to-end by senior engineers who care about your outcome, not their utilisation rate.
Named delivery leads
You always know who is responsible. No rotating offshore teams.
Weekly demos
Working software shipped every sprint. You see progress, not status reports.
IP stays with you
Full IP ownership on final payment, stated in every contract. No lock-in.
No surprises on cost
Fixed-price sprints or capped T&M. We agree the model before we start.
Who we work with
Startups and SMEs across every digital sector
From pre-seed founders validating their first idea to funded teams scaling a proven product, we work across all stages and verticals. What unites our clients: ambitious teams that ship with urgency and engineer for longevity.
